After years of being in a relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend, you have finally decided to get married. Both of you are excited because weddings are very special events in a person's life. After the wedding, there comes the honeymoon - an extended celebration of your new status. When planning a wedding or honeymoon, you have to know that one of the most important things is setting dates.

Dates are very important. Some couples even go to fortune tellers or numerologists to ask about lucky numbers and dates for their weddings and honeymoon. But if you will set dates and you want to be practical and logical about it, here are some considerations.

Consider the season and the climate. If you want to enjoy swimming in the sea in one of the tropical places, you should consider going there in summer. Or if you want to have a wedding with a spring theme, you should not set the date in winter season. You also have to check the weather for your wedding day and honeymoon.

You should also consider your guests' schedules in planning you wedding. Weddings are meant to be shared with your friends, families, and relatives. If most of your invited guests couldn't come because most of them have to work on your chosen date, then your wedding will not be as happy or memorable as it is supposed to be. Choose weekends or holidays when most people are not working.

The invitation should be sent out ahead of time. It would be best to send them out about two months in advance and then just do a follow up when the wedding day is coming near. You need to do this to be able to adjust to any changes in your guest list.

When planning the date of the honeymoon or even the wedding, the bride should know her menstrual cycle to fully enjoy the celebration and the trip. Just imagine how uncomfortable and inconvenient it would be if the bride has her period during the wedding and honeymoon.

You should also decide on alternate dates. There are some things that you cannot prevent or keep from happening such as natural disasters, death of loved ones, or unexpected illness that will force you to change the date of your wedding or honeymoon. If that is the case, just plan your wedding or honeymoon some other time and prioritize what you think is more important.

Weddings should be perfect - or at least close to perfect. When you look back and remember that time when you and your partner tied the knot, you would want to remember something great and special, not something that was ruined or destroyed because of bad weather or PMS.
